So what you're saying is that trap, hisak and chibs don't count as people?
Because while I'd usually be down with that, you're an idiot.

I said that I could think of. Sure they care, but closure of the lounge will most likely go in the direction of less posts, seeing as its one of the main places people post.

And really? Resorting to insults?

I used idiot in its original sense "a private citizen, one who has no professional knowledge, layman"
And I do not take the views of the proletariat seriously.
Dirty commoners.

Whether we close the lounge or not, the biggest problem still remains and we haven't done anything to fix it.

No-one posts, or replies to interesting new threads

This means threads in ALL of the boards. We've had about 10 posts in the PC board in the last three months. We get a sequel to a game pretty much everyone on the forums enjoyed (Okami) and one of the most hyped third-party handheld games in recent memory (Scribblenauts), and barely anyone posts about either. So, post more, people. And make new threads.

Isn't it ultimately easier to post about a game when it's out? Speculation is overrated. I know I'll be posting like a madman when I get my hands on Scribblenauts.

When I'm not playing it, anyway.

Remember this? We've gone down in post count quite a bit in the last month, and we haven't even had one new member. There are a few people who are helping to contribute to discussion, but for the most part it's rather dead around here. It's somewhat worrisome, especially considering that the impending release of a new Zelda game hasn't boosted activity at all. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Edit: Okay, I see that registration is disabled. That explains that. It'll be back soon though, right? New members are usually a good thing.

Wasn't that back in August? Why wasn't it disabled back then?

We had 102 members register in September and October. It wasn't disabled.

EDIT: Okay, it might have been disabled for some time.

Probably because there are only a few (2?) people who are currently active on these boards who are actually interested in this game? I don't even know when the release date is, nor do I really care. I don't even come here to talk about games (whether it be Nintendo, Zelda, whatever) anymore, it's more to do with the people who linger around.

Not to mention the fact that you mostly play PS3, which is nothing worth talking about anyway XD

This is why we need new members. I mean the community stuff is fine and all, but we're not going to be very prosperous as a generic chat forum with a Zelda-themed layout.

(2?)
I'd say around 7.

Then quite obviously, you either need to move The Hylia to a generic chat forum with a generic chat forum name, or else you're going not going to be very successful in transforming what is here now to a more generic place. If you look at the people who are active now, and you look at where they spend most of their time, I'd say that most of them have outgrown games (not completely, but definitely not as interested as they may have been when they first joined zhq) and the only reason to keep coming back now is to talk to people, not necessarily about games.

Eh. How many new members have actually hung around and are still contributing now?

Active in what way? I'd say it's about an even split between people who care about games and people who don't really care.

Well obviously none in the past month, but Human Cyborg's been pretty active in the three months he's been here. The majority of people here weren't around in the ZHQ days, which I think shows that new members can be useful. We don't need to go on a recruiting drive or anything, but reopening registration would be helpful.
