Here are the rules for voting for The Hylia's Games of 2009:

  • All votes must be PM'd to me. You can post your ballots in here as well if you like, but they will not count unless you PM them to me.
  • All games must have been released (or announced, when applicable) in North America in 2009. Votes for Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers will not be accepted until January 1.
  • Ports and remakes are ineligible for awards.
  • A game receiving votes in more than one genre will have all of its votes tallied in the genre in which it received the most votes. However, they will not be counted if the game is blatantly put into the wrong genre, or if you vote for the same game in more than one genre. This means you must vote for 10 different games in the first 10 categories (if you choose to vote in all 10).
  • Voting in all categories is appreciated but not necessary.
  • First round of voting ends at 11:59:59 PM CST (GMT-6) on January 23.
  • The second round of voting, if necessary, will deal with tiebreakers and last a week.
  • The results will be posted on February 2. If there are no ties, they will be posted on January 24.

Here are the categories (new categories are in bold):

Votes for Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers will not be accepted until January 1.

The game comes out December 26th, and is already available at some retailers who are breaking the street date.

  • Ports and remakes are ineligible for awards.

Guessing that rules out the Metroid Prime Trilogy Collection, huh?

I'm waiting until the people who are going to play it have had the chance, but if early reviews are to be trusted, it won't be winning any awards.

Yep. You may have the chance to vote for each game individually in a few months, however.

Do we have to specify which console we're referring to when voting for games, for those released on multiplatforms? Or it doesn't really matter?

No, it doesn't matter. The Best PS3/360 Game categories should be exclusives (or exclusive + a PC port), but otherwise it doesn't matter.

Since I haven't gotten very many (well, any) ballots yet, I figure it's not too late to make a last minute addition. You can see it in the original post.

I haven't forgotten about this, still thinking about my nominations while I finish off various games.

The best audio and best story ones etc all go to the same game for me, is that ok?

Also, I wonder whether the wii itself will be the biggest dissapointment.....

Biggest disappointment has to be something that happened this year. "Lack of interesting Wii games" is fine, but the Wii itself isn't.

There's a little over 12 hours left in voting. If you're going to submit a ballot, you should probably do it now.
