The third season of the AMC drama starts tomorrow at 10 with more drug cartels and money laundering than ever before. For those who aren't familiar (you're missing out ), Breaking Bad centers around a terminally ill high school chemistry teacher who turns to cooking and selling crystal meth in order to support his pregnant wife and cerebral palsy-afflicted son. The show has won various awards, including two Best Lead Actor Emmys for Bryan Cranston. Both of the previous seasons are available on DVD and Blu-ray. So, yes, you should check it out. Season 2 spoilers The third season premiere features Walt dealing with his wife who has just left him and the plane crash he indirectly caused. A six-minute recap of the first two seasons can be found here, along with some non-spoilery footage from this season.

I'm kind of mad at Skyler. I mean, I know Walt has been lying and selling drugs, but he was doing it for the family. I don't know

I'm kind of mad at Skyler. I mean, I know Walt has been lying and selling drugs, but he was doing it for the family. I don't know Yeah, but it's meth. It'd be one thing it he was growing pot or selling herion, but this is a lot worse. Besides, Walt's almost turned into something of a psychopath. He makes the most unprofessional speech ever to make himself feel better and lies when his wife calls him out, not to mention the Jane incident last year. He might claim to still have a moral compass, but if he does have one, it's fading quickly. Anyway the premiere was awesome. I didn't expect Skyler to find out this early in the season (or even this early in the series), and I'm excited to see where they take it. Those drug dealers (?) in Mexico are also interesting. That last scene with them (pre-explosion) reminded me a lot of this, which fits since I've seen many people compare this show's tone to that of the Coen brothers.

Holy crap at that ending. I definitely did NOT expect that plot to move so quickly. So Walt's getting really angry quite a lot now, and it's good dramatically and everything, but that pizza moment was hilarious. Saul is as awesome as ever. And he's a regular now! And so, apparently is his cleaner from last season's finale. This show is amazing.

Yeah the ending was crazy. And I felt so bad for Walt when he was like, "I brought dipping sticks"

Both of the previous seasons are available on DVD and Blu-ray.
Or, you know, there's other ways. But the DVD is uncensored, so there may be a bit more enjoyment to be had out of it.

That ending. It was nice of them to clear up any ambiguity surrounding the Cousins' storyline. I had wondered if the Tuco storyline would ever come back. Jesse. Hank is becoming a better character by the minute. More Hank, please. But really, towards the end of the episode I started to wonder what the episode title stood for. The answer didn't disappoint. Great episode.

I'm confused as to who these Mexicans are and the significance of the writing on the turtle.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER I'm confused as to who these Mexicans are and the significance of the writing on the turtle. Did you watch the rest of the episode? They made it pretty clear.
The writing on the turtle...Tortuga was an informant for the DEA back in season two (though we never met him). Hank was supposed to go meet him with a bunch of other DEA agents, but when they got there the turtle was there with Tortuga's severed head on it. Hank stepped away (I'm pretty sure he threw up) and the turtle exploded. Which it why he's all PTSD now. You don't remember this?

Yeah, so those were the same guys? EDIT: That was a good episode. The beginning was very disturbing though.

NOT HANK! I can see how the viewers can be torn between sides; on the one side there's Walt, who everybody likes, and then on the other side there's Hank who everybody likes

on the one side there's Walt, who everybody likes, and then on the other side there's Hank who everybody likes Walt is an asshole. I mean he's a great and sometimes sympathetic character, but still. If one of the two had to die, Walt would be infinitely more deserving. Not that I want him to die. But really, with the way this season is going (introduce new characters one episode, SHOW UP AT HOUSE WITH AXE in the next), I'm really worried for Hank.

Haters can hate, but Skyler is awesome. She's one of the best characters on TV.
Gus is cool too.

See? Skyler is awesome. It's scary seeing her go down the same road Walt did (and much more quickly), but she's a great character. And one of the reasons Breaking Bad is so much better than similar shows (see: Dexter).
I have a feeling we're in for some very rash decision-making on Jesse's part next week.
