"What's the gayest music game at E3 this year?"
"I'd say Elite Beat Agents 2."
I don't care how rude he is about it, just confirmation of its presence makes me giddy with joy. Please be true. Please be true. Etc.

So these rumors... some are pretty mind blowing, wouldn't mind to see how that all plays out! http://www.zeldauniverse.net/zelda-news/breaking-zelda-wii-rumors-confirmed/EDIT: I see this is already being discussed in the Zelda series discussion board/thread... Aw man. This is why you can't rely on Facebook for your intel - the word's been out for longer than 15 minutes! hehe

The Zelda rumors don't have a lot of weight to them. Don't base your early judgments on them.
The Donkey Kong rumors do have quite a bit of credibility to them, so I'd focus on those.
And HS needs to post more.

Let's all gang up on HS! There hasn't been a new DK since DK64. That's pretty sad

Just reading up on the Kinect reveals from last night, it seems as though the system is far less hardcore than I guess many Xbox fans would've liked. The line-up of launch titles revealed so far seems very family friendly - a generic adventure game, a Wii Sports clone, a bog-standard dance title, a virtual animal game? While the hardware seems revolutionary in comparison to Sony's "Mii Too" approach, the software looks like more of the same. Microsoft seem very much to be after Nintendo's slice of the casual audience. Who can blame them for trying? But unless they've got some hardcore tricks up their sleeve for the conference later (the Star Wars tease at least suggests they do) they may struggle. I don't think casual gamers are going to be queuing up for a new system (MS or Sony) and it will be hardcore players that drive the sales. Also, silly name but that's what they said about Wii. EDIT: Colour me impressed about the size of the thing though...

Meh, I'm still not very impressed with Kinect. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of where this technology could go, but the starting lineup sounds weak. And the wii sports clone is NOT going to work. The only reason wii sports worked was because it was new. I'm not even sure how many people still play wii sports.

The quoteables aren't alive anymore so comments like these don't give me any joy. Was it just me or was Microsoft's conference really bad?

Was it just me or was Microsoft's conference really bad? It was a mixed bag. Gears of War, Call of Duty and Metal Gear will keep the hardcore happy, but Kinect was definitely given a more casual feel than I expected and that may be a sore point for them. It will be interesting to see if Move is given a similar launch. The new-look 360 giveaway puts Nintendo's Twilight Princess trailer on a DS cartridge freebie to shame.

The dance game was the only Kinectible that looked interesting and/or fun to me.
I did miss a good portion of the first half. Did they even announce any non-Kinect games?

The three I mentioned were the only non-Kinect games I remember and they weren't exactly reveals. Back to Kinect, the launch line-up has more than doubled in size since last night but still looks casual-heavy: There's a new Sonic in there, but that looks about as hardcore as it gets.

At least Nintendo and Sony should have good press conferences. Although I don't think I'll get to watch Sony's.
Ubisoft is tonight, right? Let's see if they can recover from last year's disaster.

At least Nintendo and Sony should have good press conferences. Although I don't think I'll get to watch Sony's. Nintendo need to meet certain expectations. So long as they have Zelda, Pikmin and a strong 3DS launch line-up they should be okay. Sony's is very much reliant on the Move's launch line-up to me. I'm seeing a lot of Microsoft fans disappointed that Kinectic is so heavily aimed at the Wii's casual audience and not the 360's existing install base. Sony might be rewriting their conference right now based on that feedback. Who knows? Ubisoft is tonight, right? Let's see if they can recover from last year's disaster.
5pm PST. I'll be in bed by then. Oh well. EA in less than two hours. I predict lots of titles ending in 11.

Ugh, ubisoft made a vitality sensor. Supposed to boost your immune system or something like that. Oh! And another sports game for Kinnect! *sigh*
And another rabbids adventure will be released for the wii, and there will be much rejoicing. Honestley, what happened to Rayman? I don't mind the rabbids but what has happened would be the equivalent of games about Goombas, or Koopas.
Oh well, Ghost Recon:Future Soldier looks pretty awesome. I just don't understand why none of them have combat knives...it being a game that looks to be about stealth. Pretty good looking though, too bad I had to stop watching in the middle of the demo...

Microsoft runs the same press conference every year, basically. They always show about three first party IPs, a couple of third party titles that work best over XBL and then some new stupid feature for the system, in this case, Kinect. Although Nintendo has had some really shitty e3's in the past, at least they add some variety and surprise you, even if in the process it can lead to disappointment. With Microsoft you always know like days, weeks, or even months in advance as to what is coming. Looking back at my Microsoft E3 predictions in fact, I'm pretty correct over all: Microsoft
1. Natal 2. Natal 360 Bundle/Price Drop 3. New Xbox 360 Design 4. Lots of first party games, Fable 3, Halo Reach, etc... 5. New Xbox Live interface 6. Some dumb new feature like Twitter or something That some dumb new feature is ESPN on XBL...hey I guess somebody finds it useful. I guess I missed the boat on BluRay but I really considered that a longshot anyway. I'd say the biggest news out of their show is once again, as I predicted: I really think the big news will be a price drop for the 360 and a smaller, more efficient design. The funniest thing that I didn't realize Microsoft's press conference had happened, like I was looking at all the headlines and thought they were unrelated to Microsoft's press conference as they seemed extremely unremarkable. My expectations for Nintendo's show are super high at this point, and there's nothing I can really do to settle them. Sadly I'm trapped in class from 1:15 EST to 5:15, so I'll just have to sequester myself as best I can until I can watch the show...ungh, the agony.
