The AR games look like fun novelties and I'm sure that I'll enjoy them, but I'm having trouble seeing where it goes after launch. I really hope that they aren't going to try to put them into major first-party releases (although, seeing how poorly recent Wii peripherals have been supported, I'm not worried about that). If they were to develop a full game with AR, I could see it working, but there's also the risk of turning it into something like this, which nobody wants.

So while it looks like fun, I hardly see it as a system-defining feature.

EDIT: There's some pretty great-looking screens of the online interface:

Definitely a huge improvement.

New trailers for the US first-party launch games.

Probably just getting Pilotwings, but I see the appeal of the other two.

Nifty. Not playable as such, but I finally "get" the tech and look forward to developers making the most of it.

All 400,000 units shipped for today's Japan launch have sold out.

Get ready for shortages.

But after the Wii's sales, are we really surprised about there being potential shortages?

My Amazon pre-order just dropped to £187.

The price I "pulled out of my arse" a little over four months ago, and two quid change. And with just over a week to go.

The eShop will be launching a week late, in the evening of June 6. Bring on Super Mario Land.

Well it's not "worth it" yet, but if you're buying it when Ocarina of Time is released, you're fine. It's a really nice piece of hardware.

EDIT: We have full launch details for the eShop launch! It will still happen on June 6. A 3D port of Excitebike will be free for the first 30 days ($5.99 after this period), and Super Mario Land, Alleyway, and Radar Mission will be the first titles available on Virtual Console.

It will also launch with Pokédex 3D, which is sort of self-explanatory (except that it only features Gen 5 Pokemon). It'll make use of SpotPass and QR codes.

So three 3DS bundles are our. The Black Zelda edition with OOT, the Red one with Mario 3DS and the Pink Nintedogs one.

I am seriously considering getting one of these three but I have a few questions and need help deciding.

1. Is the red 3DS that comes with Mario 3D land different than the red one already on the market?

2. Do we know how limited these are? If I wait to see if orange is in the next wave of 3DS colours will I have lost my chance to buy one of these?

3. Is there a chance pimk will be released on its own without Nintendogs at a later time?
