That is an interesting move on their part. There has been some shoddy writing within the show though (Still can not get over naming a character T-Dog among other things. Smh.) So it might bode well for Season 2. All in all still really enjoy the show and I hope season 2 delivers.

Erm. Hmm. Not sure how to feel about this. There's certainly been some pulpy dialogue, but like I said earlier, Breaking Bad had that problem in its first season and that's all but disappeared. But it's possible that the show will go forth without any major problems. Darabont seems like he's knows what he wants to do, which is arguably the most important key to a series' success.

Wildfire spoilers: what a great episode. it was really sad when Jim got bitten. And that scene where the CDC guy opens up the door automatically took me back to the hatch in lost edit: why do they have to get rid of their brains after the zombie attack? is it so they won't turn into zombies?

Meh. I can't say I'm satisfied. Finale did have some good moments though.
Bring on season 2.

Bit of a damp squib that finale. Pretty sure I should have cared a bit more about Dale and Andrea (almost) staying in the CDC for decontamination*. Was I meant to give a rats about that black chick that did stay with Jenner? The fact I've called her black chick probably says enough about how this show needed a longer season for me to get properly attached to anyone that isn't the leading man.
*Also, I haven't checked my dictionary but when did "decontamination" get redefined as "blowing everything the fuck right up"?

Nope. She's a redshirt. I still think the show will improve a lot with a 13-episode season. Wish we didn't have to wait so long for it.

Totally hyped for the new season. Finale was lackluster, however the few episodes alone left me wanting more. I'd like to see how the story progresses. Definitely one of my favorite television shows.

Now that Breaking Bad has ended (you're all terrible for letting that thread die), season 2 of The Walking Dead is starting this Sunday! For those of you who fell behind or didn't watch the first season as it aired, it's now on Netflix Instant, so you can catch up. The first two episodes of the season have been getting a lot of positive buzz, so make sure to tune in!

Looking forward to this. The first season finale was definitely a bummer and I'm not particularly excited about the possibility of them dragging out Marlon-From-The-Truman-Show's final words to Rick until the end of the season (fears of a Lost hatch-type saga), but maybe they won't.
Whatever, bring on the slobbering masses!

Why don't I remember this? Maybe a rewatch is in store for me.

Strong, scary opener. There were still some silly moments (why are you spending hours in a church when somebody is missing?), but most of the problems I had with the first season were gone.

Sod courtesy. Why come to the thread if you haven't watched the episode yet? Still a slight red-tinge to the shirts of some of the characters. My only thought when the black guy cut his arm was "Oh, they're going to kill the black guy to get things started." Hell, I can still only refer to him as the black guy because I can't name him. On the bright side, he did survive so I've got a few more episodes to find that out. Or Google... Never mind. Good opening episode. Who knew 10 minutes of people hiding under cars could be so strangely gripping. The ad hoc autopsy was ghastly (yet raised a giggle with the "Horse had a big meal not long ago" line). Sophia's a dumb broad, failing to give Rick more than around 15 seconds to lose the Zs and while part of me knew something was going to happen to Carl at the end (that deer was tricky) I wasn't expecting THAT.
