Those darn Beamos!

Probably a seriously easy one this, but...

I'm playing ALttP and I'm in Ganon's Tower. I've gotten the Red Mail and the Big Key. I'm attempting to do the run of rooms before you face the Lanmolae. However, I just keep getting slaughtered by the Beamos as I attempt to defeat the monsters in there.

My question is- can they be defeated? I'm not seeing a way to do it. And if I can't defeat them, how can I dodge them? The Mirror Shield isn't helping.

I'm getting pretty frustrated by these darn laser statues!

Unless I'm forgetting, there's no way to kill Beamos in ALttP. You just need to dodge their attacks as well as you can.

Damn, I'm screwed then. I'm finding it seriously difficult to dodge the bloody things and the Mirror Shield doesn't work on them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you see the heads rotate in ALttP even before they start shooting? If so, it always helps to start moving right after the heads pass you. And if the heads rotate counterclockwise (as I feel they do) but the door you need is clockwise of your current position, don't worry to run the long way around. Its much better than getting beamed in the face.

Rather belated update, but I've now finished ALttP (so this can be closed).

To beat the Beamos, I just watched them carefully and tried to keep out of their way. And I just finished Ganon's Tower with sheer determination (and maybe a splash of courage!)
