No offense, but correlation does not equal causation.

Education in Texas might be shit, just because Texas sucks (which it unquestionably does), not because they don't have collective bargaining.

Also due to the fact that Thomas Jefferson isn't important to Texas

I never directly said causation. Its just a connection between the two and it can just about be assumed the two are related.

I hate Scott Walker and his new budget bill.  I'm sure there's plenty of wasteful spending that actually deserves to be cut.

Ummm two things being related is implying causation, whether its the only cause is up to debate, and I'd obviously say no, but, you're stating some form of causation.

I mean it's highly likely they are related, but simply getting 2 figures and saying HEY LOOK AT THIS, is wrong, I mean there aren't any other contributing factors to argue your case.

It could be the prevalence of evangelical christianity in those states (actually, if that isn't a factor I will eat a hat).

I believe that is the point I'm trying to get across.

I'm saying you implied causation, and you're stating you never said it was the cause.

But we're saying the same thing?

Have I somehow been transported into an MC Escher painting?

I was just trying to show the data. I half realized it was just an extremely biased look at a correlation, but posted it anyways.

Oh don't worry, I do it all the time in my healthcare posts, I use on piece of evidence and imply causation.

Although in my case I have lots of other evidence and thus a pattern emerges, also I can prove other factors aren't involved...but I only do that when people call me on my bullshit because I'm lazy.

Although basically no progress has been made either way, I feel these signs are worth posting.
