SPOILERS, SWEEITE
The official thread spoiler rule is that all episode discussion must be put in spoiler tags until the day after the epsiode has aired. So if an episode airs on a Saturday the 30th you must use tags until Sunday the 1st. After that tags arent required and you risk getting spoiled if you enter this thread!

Doctor Who! Its one of the most popular shows on TV right now and the one with the most history. It starts an Alien who goes by the name "The Doctor", he travels around space and time going on adventures with his companions he meets along the way.  The Doctor is over 900 years old and has the ability to "regenerate" his body when he dies. Originaly he could only do it 13 times but who KNOWS whats up with that now! This power has let The Doctor be played by many difrent actors

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXCpY_3Sac8" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXCpY_3Sac8</a>
The show started its original run in 1963 and that ended in 1989. There were comics and radio plays to keep the franchise alive during that time but nothing really brought Who bak into the mainstream until in 1996 a made for TV move was produced starring Paul Mcgann as the "8th Doctor" was produced in an effort to bring the franchise back!

Sadly the movie bombed and the BBC backed out of plans to "Regenerate" Who.

That is until in 2003 Russel T  Daveis was approched by the BBC after showing intrest in Who and was asked to be in charge of the revival. He said yes and we now as of 2005 Doctor Who is back on the air and will be for the forseable future!

So thats all well and good but whats going on with Doctor Who RIGHT NOW?
Excelent question! This Christmas we will be getting a new special episode and then Series 7 will start up some time in 2012. Here is a trailer for the christmas special
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0_1Mu3TNww" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0_1Mu3TNww</a>

Hmm Series 7 and over 40 years of who? I dont know where to start : (

Well lucky for you its fairly easy! One of the best parts about the new series for new watchers is that its a soft Reboot! You can start watching from series 1 of RTDS run with out feeling lost!

Okay so I like this show, now I want to know about classic who is that easy to get into?

Well sadly no, Classic who has a LOT of episodes and some of the earliest ones(1st and 2nd Doctors) are lost forever. Lucky for you me and my team of 20 expert Who-Fans have made a list of the most important and acessible Classic stories, like what you watch? Watch some more!

Well thats enough for me, lets all have fun this series and hope that Silence doesnt fall in this thread!

So excited for series 6. Moffat ditching RTD's season structure, no Chibnall, and that famous author guy is writing the fourth episode!

Beh should watch it.
