Hey guys part two of the Series Opener airs tommorow! Titled "Day of the moon". The Doctor and His companions have to stop The Silence from taking over our planet, and prehaps the universe? Just what is up with those things anyway? And who IS in that astronaut suit? Here is a spoilerific trailer for the episode!

This show is so fun. Another great episode, I'm really excited to see how this plays out throughout the season (and maybe through future seasons?). I love how Moffat introduces twists that completely rewrite what we know without stopping to explain how it all fits together. He has lots of trust in his audience. He's also breaking away from RTD's formula a LOT so far, which I had hoped would happen.
That girl is the daughter of the Doctor and River?

I doubt that RE: River and the doctor. At the end of the episode when she snogs him he says it was his first time kissing her, making it her last(and first as well?) time kissing him My theroy is that in the time that The Silence kidnapped Amy they impregnated her with The Doctors DNA.They said she was important and they also have the capacity for time travel AND hijacked the Tardis. But im probably wrong.

That theory doesn't explain how she can be pregnant and not pregnant at the same time though. Not that I could come up with a better one. What makes you think that was they only time that they ever kissed?

Well she said that "His first are her last" and she was suprised to find out that he has never kissed her before then so I just asumed But the little Girl is obviously The Rani. Its the only thing that makes sense : P

We're past the grace period, we don't need to talk in spoilers anymore.
I understand the narrative convenience of having River and the Doctor heading in opposite directions, but I hope there's an in-universe explanation for it. Is it a strict rule or just a general direction?
Should I know who the Rani is?

Renegade Time Lady. If there is a mysterious figure in Doctor Who and its a girl, chances are she is probably (not) the rani. Awww yeeeeah

Time rape or The Rani.
Hell maybe rory got amy pregnant and the Silence just fucked with its DNA a bit.
Maybe its not her kid?
Maybe That Silent should be on "So you think you can Dance" next year?

Terrific episode. Lots of fun, yet without getting too silly (for a sci-fi show, anyways). Couldn't begin to guess where the ending of the episode was going. The basics seemed wrapped up with eight minutes to go, but there was still that little girl to be explained.
And she's still not. Which, I actually have no problem with. Dunno about her being The Rani, but I'm not keen on The Doctor having another daughter who could easily go ignored after this season. Nevermind. Will keep me watching out for Bad Wolf-like hints - but dealt with a fair bit more subtlety than a certain Mr T Davies ever pulled off.
Some great lines this episode, including the "Welcome to America" line. But I particularly liked River's dig at the Doctor's constant use of the sonic screwdriver. Heck, I was thinking it while he was waving it around at The Silence. Really enjoying River as a whole now.

River is terrible, she's annoying and is clearly written as moffatsdream woman, he always adds some ridiculous mary sue woman to all his shows and it's the one thing I hate about his writing, I mean he's good, and better than RTD, but river song is basically a fucking fanfiction character.

River is Moffat's equivalent of Jack Harkness, which is totally fine. I don't have a problem with the character. Why do you find her annoying?

Jack Harkness isn't an annoying mary sue?
Also at least jack is funny, jack harkness' overt sexuality is often played for laughs, rivers is seriously moffat writing stuff he wants to wank over.
No offense moffatt (I know him somewhat through people)

I mean that River and Jack were their respective writers' pet characters that both have a lot of timey-wimey mythology around them. Also at least jack is funny, jack harkness' overt sexuality is often played for laughs, rivers is seriously moffat writing stuff he wants to wank over.
On Doctor Who, sure, but some of Jack's backstory introduced in series two of Torchwood is way sappier and overwrought than anything Moffat has done with River (although again I can't think of a single problem I've had with River). John Barrowman's complete inability to act those moments didn't help of course, an issue that Alex Kingston has shown probably won't be present here.

Lol surprised you didn't make more of a deal about how I run in the same circles as sci-fi writers.

Pics online for next episode. Mmmm, Lily Cole. Looks the part of a siren, no question. And Eccleston says "No" to a return to the series for any 50th Anniversary party. oNo, I never bathe in the same river twice. Spoilsport.
