Zelda however has never seemed like a movie, it doesn't have many cinematic qualities most of the game is done outside the cutscenes, with the exception of TP.

Okay, something I left out is that the entire Half-life series has zero cutscenes.  The entire game is in real time and in control of the player, which is remarkable because it still carries numerous qualities of a cinematic movie.  So if a game with zero cutscenes can be made to look like a movie, then surely the Zelda series has similar potential.  That's what I meant when bringing up Half-Life 2.

Ok, thats cool but Zelda never feels like a movie at all, it doesn't flow like a movie, it doesn't have, even when it has cut scenes, movie like Events.
Halo looks like a movie, gears of War looks like a movie but Zelda doesn't it isn't movie compatible, the goodness of it comes from the way the game play works, exploring and finding clues and items, sure there are some touching scenes(Midna leaving, OoT's entire post Ganon ending, Darmani being put to rest etc.) but they aren't that Hollywood souped up melodrama type cutscenes. I really don't think it could work as a movie...

Well you kind of contradict yourself by saying it’s not a movie, then describing movie scenes from TP and MM.  I don't really see why Zelda can't translate into the big screen, but I guess it depends on how you view the series.

I don't really want to get into my hatred for Halo and Gears of War, but since you brought it up I have to say that both of these games have more than lackluster stories that could not survive on screen as is.

I believe out of the entire Zelda franchise, there is enough material to gather a spectacular script, if placed in the right hands.

Since the game revolves so much around exploration, it would be difficult to create a movie.  They would have to drastically alter the world, and maybe even force Link to talk.  *shudder*

That's not to say there couldn't be dungeons, they would just have to be more of a distraction than a main attraction.

Well, it's not impossible, since they did make a "Cat in the Hat" movie.

I believe there will be many spoofs/home made movies, but nothing like, super official.

That would most likely be best.  Fan-made films are usually the best simply because they know how not to piss fans off.

They are also the worst because they are made by people with inexperience in film making and micro-budgets.

Certianly not, my friend.

Many people have prior experience to filming(maybe not HOLLYWOOD STYLE), and who are you to say that they don't have the budget to do so? You're underestimating the creativity of these people.

Thank you.  I've seen both amazing and ridiculous fan-films.  Sure they lack the quality of Hollywood budget films for lack of money, but that doesn't mean they're terrible.  I have a friend who is a very good director and stylistic cinematographer, but he hasn't been trained by anyone.  Do I think ALL fan films are good?  No, certainly not, but there are definitely good ones out there.

My Thoughts Exactly. Just because its not on a commercial after the super bowl doesn't mean it can't be phenominal.

I can understand how causious everyone is being, and with good reason, but I don't think we should completely give up on the idea and rely on low quality Youtube videos to replace the possibility of a full blown picture.  Like I've said before, it is very unlikely for Nintendo to re-enter the movie business, but you've got to admit, you all would be at least a little bit excited after hearing a confirmed announcement from Nintendo.

True, there would be excitement, especially on the behalf of all hardcore Zelda fans, but it would be mixed with an appropriate amount of caution and skepticism.  I remember when IGN's April Fool's video came out.  I was super excited, but also extremely concerned.  It only takes one terrible director (I'm looking at you, Uwe Bolle) to ruin what could have been a great video game film (I'm looking at you, *insert Uwe Bolle video game film here*).

True, but you have to Understand that most Video game movies end up Unsuccessful. And, Nintendo Of America would be taking a major risk of either cleansing, or burning the hard-earned zelda name. If the movie turned out bad, it would cause many problems in the future for Zelda, and Nintendo. I don't see any reason why they would risk such a hard earned title.

That sums of that entire quote

On the contrary, while that movie was crap it didn't ruin the Mario series, it was just plainly ignored. (notice how no one ever discusses it sense it was shit) Now if the Zelda one was pwnage, then everyone would talk about it, also if they made the  movie animated, that would be cool.

No. Animated movies might scare some guys off (Although everybody seems to like Kung-Fu Panda, so I guess it's not really going to affect the sales that much)

When you mean Animated, I hope you're talking about CGI animation or whatever that 3D stuff you kids use these days are called. Otherwise, it would seem more like a child's movie rather than a gaming movie.

Animated movies can be nice, but theres not really an in between. If it was a CG movie with TP Link, then it would make use of its graphics, but if its animated like Toon Link, it should be a cute little film. But we are in more need of a Zelda game than a movie.
