Yeah, the discovery is old, but I hadn't actually seen this video. I've known about the hidden content since December...but this video was really awesome.

Nah, Henrie had e-mailed me about it a few times, but it was just a posting that this was "found". I saw the video on some forum tonight and was like "okay, this is something worthy of posting".

oh. This is "arwing in Oot" caliber stuff, lol. I have an AR for GC but my copy of TP is for the Wii. So I can't wait til a Wii AR comes out to try this kind of stuff.

By the way: The first monster is easier to defeat if you shoot 3 arrows (or 1 bomb arrow) in the crystal on its chest. But wanted the video to be longer so I used the...Morgenstern... the whole time (sorry, I don't know the English name of this item ;-).

@CoffeeGuy:

Morgenstern heißt auf Englisch "Ball & Chain". ^^

The first monster can easily be defeated by using (Bomb) Arrows. But how about that Goron Golem (or whatever?), can you blow it up with Bomb Arrows or something?

How on earth do you unlock these, and why are they in there?

@ Fierce: Danke für die Info. ;-)

Unfortunately you can't defeat the Goron Golem. I tried every weapon there is. But as you can see: the Goron Golem can't defeat you either. ;-) And if you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of his punch "attack" even though the Gorons aren't formed to a Golem yet. ^^

any idea what action replay code you need for that ?
and what german version off the game ? all the german versions or only the first ones ? becasue i know that only the first german versions of the gamecube used to have progressive scan support (the 001 version).maybe it is the same here .

@ Coffeeguy: Ha. They call the 'ball and chain' the morning star in German? I always thought morning stars were similar to the ball and chain, but smaller.

Morgenstern translates to Morningstar FYI. Which is frankly a better name for the weapon (that's what it is!)

Anyways, awesome video. I can sort of see why the second one was taken out (just too weird), but why was the first guy removed?

To unlock these monsters you need Datel's "Action Replay" (AR) for GameCube and of course the codes which unlocks the monsters. It's important to have an older version of the AR, because the newer versions doesn't allow you to type in codes by your own anymore. You can find the codes here: www.arcentral.com
The people from ARCentral hacked a bunch of codes for SSBM, too, for example "Play as Master Hand".

@ VGC: Yes, in the game they call it that way. ^^ I really don't like the German translation of the game. In the past Nintendo of Europe brought everytime an excellent translation, but the translation of "Twilight Princess" was imho weak. Some impressions: Ooccoo was named "Tante" (Aunt) and Ooccoo's Son was translated to "Tantes Liebling" (Aunt's darling). And the Dominion Rod was called "Kopierstab" (Copy Rod)...

Hey,that first monster was pretty neat. Wonder why they cut him out? But a Goron monster? Uh... yeah.

Ah, that just makes me wish TP was like WW, where you could go through the second play through in your starter clothes. Ha, good times.

AR is Action Replay. Cheats, in other words.

You can only unlock the mthrough AR codes apparently. So unless you can do that, dont bother.

Comment #39 by keatonsheik

@Yoshimitsu and Santuli
I didn't think the starting clothes were that bad, and if you don't like them then don't play the second time around, so I wish you could play with the starting clothes, personally.

Just to clarify - I get why you thought I saw it at Hrule.net. I actually never clicked any of Henrie's links because I knew what it would have. Trust me, I know ahead of any Zelda webmaster about this type of stuff because my sources are the people who actually do the "hacking" with the AR or PC tools. I saw the video on Nsider forums. So, hopefully that explains why I didn't cite Hyrule.net.

Heh, cool stuff. I like that Goron Golem. Real shame he isn't in the game...

Andre, just to finish up explaining for these guys, Link had hero's clothes, invincibility, and ball and chain because of the action replay codes the guy had turned on. I've also been hearing a Wii AR is coming out this summer, but I may be wrong. If you have a GC, I strongly suggest you buy a GC AR even if you don't have GC TP. There are codes just like these on a lot of games for GC. If you have WW, Mario Sunshine, SSBM, Metroid Prime or anything like that, you should definetely try an AR out, because they can provide sheer entertainment!
