Spirit Tracks Spoiler Roundup
11-20-2009
By: Daniel "DSCUBED" Friedlaender
Alright, so it's been a while, but as always I am very busy. Mostly, I am trying to get things out of the way now so that I might have time to do the visual guides when the game actually comes out. Truth be told, I have never done anything remotely close to a visual guide, and I am not known for plowing through games like TSA is. Suffice it to say, I feel I will need a good amount of time to do the visual guides that I know you have become accustomed to.
Assuming you're all excited about Spirit Tracks, this post should find you very pleased or annoyed. There are lots of spoilers here, so consider yourself warned if you are in the latter category of people. I have tried to put a little "at-a-glance" summary where possible. Here's what we've got. More will be added as we learn more:
1. As some of you know, you can control Zelda in this game. For those more philosophical Zelda fans wondering why it is now that Nintendo is letting this happen, Eiji Aonuma has issued a little statement about it.
"Why would an archenemy like the Phantom become your ally, we asked ourselves, and during that discussion we came up with the idea that one way would be if a second character took control of that Phantom for you. But who? We thought Zelda might be an interesting and appropriate character. So that’s how we decided upon the story where Zelda is going to have her body taken away by an enemy."
-Eiji Aonuma
2. GoNintendo has compiled a long list of very nitty-gritty spoilers like these:
- two save files
- Anjean gave Tetra the Spirit Pipes over a century ago
- you first stop at Whittleton, which houses many lumberjacks
and many, many more
3. Lots of new artwork, which can be found in our Media section
4. Nintendo-released gameplay trailer:
5. Nintendo's First North American Spirit Tracks Commercial:

Nice commercial. I liked it. And as for the visual guide preparation it is great that you've been given such a task. I agree that it is easier to prepare a usual guide, which personally I like very much, I usually download them from pdf SE http://www.pdfok.com . But I'm sure you can do them well, but to prepare a visual guide will demand new skills from you, you will learn a lot. This will be what is called development!
