Home | News | Twilight Princess Confirmed for GCN

Ever since Twilight Princess' delay, fans had the notion that Twilight Princess would be pushed back to a Revolution title. Initially, Perrin Kaplan of Nintendo of America, Inc., said that Nintendo was committed to releasing Twilight Princess on the GameCube to reward fans who were waiting for the title. Just within a week's time, two reports have put a nail in the coffin to the theory that Twilight Princess was secretyly being pushed back as a Revolution title.

Reggie Fils-Aime spoke at the Nintendo Press Summit on November 4th, and at the end of his speech, he opened the floor to questions. Near the end of the round of questions, one journalist got in a question about Twilight Princess' status.

Q: The new Zelda. Still to Cube even though the Revolution is so close?

A: Mr. Miyamoto and Iwata have said repeatedly that they want it out on GameCube, and since I take my orders directly from them I would have to say it is going to be on GameCube.

Though it wasn't a definitive confirmation, it was enough for most fans. However, just yesterday, Nintendo of Europe's PR Manager spoke to Eurogamer, Nintendo's UK sister site, saying, "Nintendo has always said that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will appear on Nintendo GameCube and this is still very much the case." Thus, it appears that Nintendo has finally laid to rest the rumors of a Revolution Twilight Princess.
