| In the early morning hours of February 19th, 2006, Spike TV aired an exclusive interview with Reggie Fils-Aime, who laid the smack down on the NGC rumor and revealed Twilight Princess is heading to our GameCubes, NOT Revolutions, this fall. You can now read the full transcript or view the actual interview footage courtesy of some G4 TV viewers who recorded the interview on Spike TV's show "Game Head". You can view the video here or here's the transcript from the interview: SpikeTV: So let's talk about Zelda btw. SpikeTV: Zelda: Twilight Princess. Talk about taking some names. So let's take that name Zelda. What's up with that, when's it coming out? Reggie: It's coming out this fall, it's coming out on Gamecube. There's been a lot of speculation, people think we're holding it back or that' it's gonna be launched just on Revolution. I'm telling you people, it's not true. It's gonna be on Gamecube, it's gonna come out in the fall. SpikeTV: Is it gonna be on Gamecube AND Revolution? Reggie: It's gonna be on Gamcube. The thing about Revolution is that it will take a Gamecube standard disc. So while it is going to be a title for Gamecube, Twilight Princess, you will be able to play it on Revolution. SpikeTV: So what will there be, will there be an add-on. Will we have a sword fight on Revolution or anything? Reggie: You know, it's a great idea. We should talk to Miyamoto
about it but, you know, right now the focus is really getting it
out on Gamecube. This should honestly only come as shocking news to those living in denial or those misled by inaccurate information, stemming from various sources in the community and on news sites. But earlier last week, Matt Cassamania of IGN revealed that Twilight Princess would not come out in the first half of 2006. Also, NGC has defended its claim that its initial report was fact. |

| NGC printed in its newest issue that its statements were fact. Well, Reggie just went on the air and took NGC's name and kicked their asses. Reggie insists that the game is being focused on for the GameCube, not the Nintendo Revolution, and says as of now, the game can only be played on Revolution because it is backwards compatible - it does not as of now have any special functionality with Revolution, although Reggie says he should bring the idea of controlling the sword and shield up with Mr. Miyamoto. | |
| Additionally, Reggie hammered the interviewer to tell all his "people" that the rumors about Nintendo holding Twilight Princess back or delaying it for Revolution are completely false. Honestly, this is music to my ears. Not only is it now confirmed this original delay was not for Revolution at all (which was what ticked me off), but was instead to truly make Twilight Princess the best Zelda game ever - for GameCube. Also, we reported earlier that the interview revealed that a definitive release date would be set at E3, but neither the transcript nor the first video revealedl this information, so we retracted the statement. However, we've located the full video, and Reggie does indeed confirm this. | |
