Home | News | Jeux-France Interview with Mathieu Minel

Jeux-France recently conducted an interview with the Director of Marketing for Nintendo of France, Mathieu Minel. The interview originally contained information about Twilight Princess and Zelda Revolution, but Jeux-France apparently was instructed to cut out those portions by Nintendo of Europe. We apologize for the confusion and for accusing anyone for fabricating the report; this was all a big misunderstanding on the behalf of Jeux-France.

This is a poor translation from Google.com's translation service of the original interview portions about Zelda:

Do you think that the fans of Mario will have this time right at a new play Mario for the launching of Nintendo Revolution?

What is already certain it is that we work currently on a new play Zelda on Nintendo Revolution, other that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess envisaged as for him on GameCube. A new play Mario is also under development as well as a Super Bros Smash. Melee. They are the three only titles known for the moment.

Next Zelda envisaged on GameCube will be playable also on Nintendo Revolution by taking of account the exclusive functionalities of its lever? Is the exit of the play always planned for this spring?

Which form will take the special functionalities? A special version of the play or a presence in the source code of the play? We do not know yet which solution will be chosen, nor which will be these functionalities. We do not have yet a date of exit on our plannings, I can say to you all the same that we are already working on the Marketing of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, therefore I think that the play will leave soon even if that remains still rather fuzzy, in particular because of its compatibility with Nintendo Revolution, there are many things which will intervene in the date of exit of this play.

However, as we stated, Jeux-France has retracted these comments and they can no longer be found in the interview. We don't know what to make of this, but according to Reggie Fils-Aime on Spike TV and in EGM, Twilight Princess is solely for GCN and Revolution can only play GCN games with a GCN controller, not a Revolution controller. Hopefully more information will be coming our way in the next few weeks to clarify this issue once and for all.
