Mike "TSA" Damiani set a new World Record for The Legend of Zelda for NES by completing the first quest of the adventure game in a total time of thirty-three minutes and thirty-four seconds. The new time beats the previous video on Speed Demos Archive by Tom Votava by thirty seconds and the Twin Galaxies time by Rodrigo Lopes by 17 seconds. This marks the fourth time Damiani has held The Legend of Zelda first quest World Record for fastest completion.

In addition to this record, Robert 'Trebor' Nobles set a new World Record for the fastest completion of the second quest of The Legend of Zelda for the NES without the use of "Up+A" warping. His time is the first of its kind, though it is about five minutes slower than the "Up+A" record set by Rodrigo Lopes. There currently is no non-Up+A warp first quest run. Robert's run was his best attempt in nearly a year, showing just how long and frustrating it is to make a great speed run of this title. Robert vows to continue trying to break his own record.

As for Mike, he admits he is a bit tired of the classic title. "I still enjoy the NES game, but I'm just worn out from speed running it. I think it is time to give up that type of play for this title. From now on, I will simply enjoy myself when I play, trying to get as many heart containers as possible early on, as well as getting the Blue Ring and potions so I can relax."

Both videos are currently available at Speed Demos Archive, though neither of the runs have been verified by Twin Galaxies as of yet. Robert is currently trying to improve his Second Quest run, while Damiani is expected to attempt a new Majora's Mask or Ocarina of Time run sometime after E3.
