The Holiday Season is upon us, and the Old Man is fed up with controversy over the use of "Merry Christmas" in stores. He predicts South Park will have something to say about that in next week's Christmas Episode finale. However, with the holidays in full swing, the Old Man decided to give his wish list a final check-through in this week's installment.

He's making a list and checking it twice … I'm not sure what everyone else has on their gift list for this holiday season, but I would like to share mine. You see, you might expect me to say "Twilight Princess" and "Zelda DS", but that would be way too obvious. Instead, I have asked for the creators to spend all this time truly making the best Zelda game ever. So, I've come up with a wish list for Twilight Princess. First of all, I really would like a fully orchestrated soundtrack. I know this is somewhat like beating a dead horse, but I will keep it up until I know it will happen. Just listening to the OSTs and comparing them to the orchestrated versions is night and day.

Adella can sure do a great Marin.

Another item I would like the creators to focus on in Twilight Princess is the storyline. I truly believe the gameplay will be spectacular, but how about giving us a storyline for the ages? Each new area should be driven by plot points, not by petty necessity to reach the end of the game. Giving additional motivation and meaning to the game through a narrative arc or two will do wonders; just look at the Final Fantasy series. Finally, I am really hoping that Nintendo will include online play in the Zelda DS game, whatever it turns out to be. After seeing the craze behind Mario Kart and Animal Crossing, there should be no reason why Nintendo would hold back on Zelda. Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer to see if my wish list is fulfilled.

More than the game … As for actual tangible gifts this holiday season, I have received the entire official manga collection by Akira Himegawa. I was amazed at how small these books are (I never had seen any manga in person before), but I was also impressed with how cool it is to have something like this in your grasp. I don't understand a wink of Japanese, but the illustrations do enough to convey the stories (and I could always go read the translations online). Still, going back to one of the things I asked for in Twilight Princess, it amazes me how rich of a story these manga have, especially since they are officially tied to Nintendo (they did license them). If Nintendo could only capture what they create for the manga in their games…

What's new in Hyrule … Archaic Sage and his team at Rauru's Return put up their fourth installment of Harkinian, so check it out. Louisa has announced that her comic site, Indie Zelda, will be on hiatus indefinitely. The Missing Link's website, The Grand Adventures, is apparently offline for reasons unknown at the moment and has been for several days. TSA finally got up some place hold pages for the games sections and added some reviews to the games. Zelda ReOrchestrated is finally closing down production on December 15th. Is it me, or does lack of Zelda games mean lack of Zelda content and mysterious shut downs of sites and projects?

Putting out an APB for … The Phantom Menace, the original developer of Zelda Classic. Though the popularity of that program has since died off, back in the day it was the biggest thing in the Zelda community.

Fan who gets to ride Epona to work … Mongooseman, for discovering a long-lost Japanese commercial for Link's Awakening involving puppets. [see it here]

Fan who should hide out in the Evil Jar … All the morons who still believe and insist Twilight Princess will come out for Revolution instead of GameCube. It is getting old.

Letters …

Would you happen to know when TSA is planning to put a poll up on the site?

I'm not sure. I know he does a poll of the week on the forums. I think he's just trying to figure out which poll option would be best for the front page.

Link_Soul Proud Officer of the Twilight Princes Union at Gamespot!

Hello old man!! I didn't know you existed until ... well... today!! Anyway I wanted to tell you that all the theories of Twilight Princes ending about flooding of Hyrule are totally incorrect!! If you read carefully the opening Legend of Wind Walker you will see that it says "but the hero did not appeared..." Which is basically the reason why the Sages send Hyrule under the vast sea because the Evil has come back and the Hero Is not here blah blah blah...you know the story!

So how is it possible that the Twilight Princes ending would be the flooding of Hyrule if Link has appeared!!? Tell that to the people that still persist on spreading this rumor that is pure s**t!!

Anyway I would like you to tell us what you think about the Revolution console, how much do you think the Revo controller will affect the Zelda gameplay in the feature and of course what do you think about the rumors that Twilight Princes will come out with already the mechanism for being able to be played with the Revo controller on the Revolution!!

Thanks your time and please change your clothes old man you smell like apig!!!

Well, I believe the common belief by those who say TP will end in a flood is that Link dies or vanishes, and therefore is forgotten and that is why TWW's legend says no hero appeared.

I think that people are overreacting to the Revolution controller. There will be a standard GCN-ish "shell" to play games normally, and you can use a GCN controller OR A HORI PAD (SNES replica controller for GCN) as well. I also bet Nintendo releases a retro controller for people to play older games. So everyone needs to chill about the controller issue.

I am not sure, but I think you probably can play any game with the Revolution's controller. However, I highly doubt there will be a special thing in Twilight Princess unlocked on Revolution when you play that takes advantage of the controller.

I got to say, Old Man, I don't really approve of your choice of adjectives used to describe the Huskers. Sure, they haven't had the best season, but it takes much more than a "crappy" team to go out and molest Colorado like they did. If any team deserves to be labeled as such, it's Colorado for their piss-poor sportsmanship (it was really funny to watch the lot of them, players and fans, make asses out of themselves on national TV). Ah, but as a Husker fan, I've come to realize that even if the Huskers play an undeniably good game, or even have a perfect season, people will still find ways to bring them down for it.

So for the actual question: do you think that the current timeline placement for TP could change before release? I mean, the best explanation I can think of for its current placement is that it takes place after OoT's present day era, as opposed to TWW taking place after OoT's future era. If you follow me.

Thanks,
FDLink

Colorado officially earns the worst team in the Big XII conference label after their poor performances against both Nebraska and Texas (TSA also points out that Texas would have won 100-3 if they kept playing in the second half instead of letting up). However, my Notre Dame team had a big scare against Stanford before finally securing their spot. So, we'll see how Texas does against USC, a team Notre Dame took to the wire, and how my Notre Dame team takes on Ohio State, a team Texas beat by 3 at the very end due to the fact the coach didn't play the best quarterback then.

I think there is a chance. We still have a lot of time left. However, I think the chances are slimmer than usual because I believe this game will be more story-intensive, and thus a lot of script needs to be finalized sooner.

Old Dude, I have a burning question that I can only ask you. If I asked Link this question, he'd go nuts and chop me up. Or simply jest shout stuff into my face.

Since you are a wise old man, can you tell me why Link never talks, and just shouts at people? Everyone else can talk, 'cos dialogue pops up outta nowhere and instantly, the words are spoken. And when I was talking to him, he just seemed to scream stuff at me like "HEEEYAAAH!!" and "HOOOOOOOHHH!!".

I could only barely understand what he saying ("heeeyaaah" would be the equivalent to "yeah" I suppose and "hoooohhh" would be the equivalent to a negative response), but I pity the shopkeepers and locals of Hyrule. "Good evening sir! What would you li..."HEEEEEEYAAAH!! TOOODYA!!! HOOOOOHHH!!!"

"Ah! Please don't eat me!!" Or when he's with Gisele: "So, Link... you wanna go to the cin..." KAAAAAAHHH!!! YAAAAAAHH!!!".

You can imagine what happens. So, why does he do this? Can't the Deku Tree do something about this? Or even you?

Your good ol' pal, Lynkx

Link can talk, he's just so worn out all the time! If you were running around Hyrule all day in a quest, you'd be so out of breath, you couldn't talk as well. So, that's the reason why.

Ok so in mm Termina is a parallel dimension to hyrule so where are the kokiris why do the zoras where clothes and where is MM ganondorf

That's the thing about parallel dimensions. They don't always work out the way you would think. However, I heard a rumor the Kokiri were now in a circuit troupe and were touring all of Termina, and Ganondorf was the circus leader.

Closing Thoughts … When it comes to who Link should end up with in Zelda, you get several different camps. While it is not important to discuss what the options are, it is interesting to think about what will happen if there is blatantly obvious romance in Twilight Princess between Link and, say, Princess Zelda. I wonder how fans will react to this if it turns out to be true.

Did you know … The Famicom's controller had a built-in microphone, just like the DS has now. Remember that saying in the Legend of Zelda manual that you could kill Pols Voices with sound? Well, it turns out is you play the Famicom Disk System version of Zelda and use the microphone feature, you can actually kill Pols Voices with "sound".
