You may have been wondering where the Old Man went. After having a little too much fun over New Year's Eve, the Old Man took a long "break" because he predicted nothing new would happen in the land of Zelda in the month of January. He was pretty much right. Now with February beginning this week, and news conferences about to begin taking place, the Old Man decided to return once more.

Ganon's back, OMFG! … Who cares. Seriously. Like we didn't know Ganon was going to be in this game. First of all, I remember when The Wind Waker came out in Japan, people got so pissed when posters put the word "Ganon" in their topic headers. Seriously, who the heck did you think was going to be in The Wind Waker? Now, Ganon has been brought up several times, and Aonuma has indirectly stated he plays a part in Twilight Princess. So for all of you complaining that this Nintendo Power article was "breaking news" or "spoilers", go back to sleep you trolls.

Why does TSA get her? Give me a break.

Chill out, dudes … What the heck has come over the fan community in the last month? I go to sleep, and it seems people are at each others throats. I guess when there is no info, no Zelda, and no more fake hoaxes, people get so seriously on edge they feel the need to fight. While I emphasize that it is all over now, what went on was nothing short of ridiculous. Quite frankly, we don't need anymore arguing. Grudges don't need to be put forth into the public, and retaliation against such insults should also be kept behind closed doors, or to yourself. Thankfully it is over, and hopefully we all move forward and act like it never happened (for me it didn't, I was passed out on a floor).

This is torture … But I do feel the pain all of you are enduring with no really big new Twilight Princess info. What's really going on here? Why isn't there a new release date? Do we have to wait until E3? Listen, it's still January as of today. We have over four months until E3, and five months until the end of second quarter 2006. The Wind Waker's final release wasn't announced in the US until November 2002, and it came out in March 2003. So, as TSA said earlier, if we don't hear anything by March of this year, then you all can worry. But I think sooner, rather than later, we'll be getting needed relief.

What's happening in Hyrule ... Ice's Zelda Central came back, but probably with the bang it didn't want. Now that things have settled down, hopefully we'll have another legacy site brought back (by the actual creators), like the precious few others that remain. Everyone is going nuts over Hyrule.net's latest Twilight Princess speed runs and videos, although I must say putting up those "speed runs" kind of seemed "dicey" because one is just inviting themselves to endure TSA's endless criticism and competitive nature. I don't think Mighty Dekunut is in the business of competing against anyone for world records on Zelda, so perhaps he should have just released them as "Demo Guide" videos. Last, but not least, Hyrule.com.ar returned! My favorite site from back in the day is … well … back!

Putting out an APB for … Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma. Where is the new information guys? Does Twilight Princess still exist? Throw us a bone!

Zelda Fan who gets to ride Epona to work … Mighty Deknut, for his outstanding updates on Hyrule.net this month.

Zelda fan who should hide out in the Evil Jar … Can I say this? TSA, for really not letting go of an issue that had no relevance in our current community's era. But sometimes letting go of the past is hard.

Letters …

Hey, I wanted to ask is it true that Twilight Princess has been delayed now until September?

- Jonathan Evans

No, there has been no delay since the August delay. Twilight Princess has a 2006 release date, but that's all we officially know.

Link_Soul Proud Officer of the Twilight Princes Union at Gamespot!

Hello old man!! I didn't know you existed until ... well .. today!! Anyway I wanted to tell you that all the theories of Twilight Princes ending about flooding of Hyrule is totally incorrect!! If you read carefully the opening Legend of Wind Walker you will see that it says" but the hero did not appeared.." Which is basically the reason why the Sages send Hyrule under the vast sea because the Evil has come back and the Hero Is not here blah blah blah...you know the story!!

So how is it possible that the Twilight Princes ending would be the
flooding of Hyrule if Link has appeared !!? Tell that to the people that still persist on spreading this rumor that is pure s**t!!

Anyway I would like you to tell us what you think about the Revolution console, how much do you think the Revo controller will affect the Zelda gameplay in the feature and offcourse what do you think about the rumors that Twilight Princes will come out with already the mechanism for being able to be played with the Revo controller on the Revolution!!

Thanx your time and please change your clothes old man you smell like a pig!!!

It is possible that Link failed, and historians recorded it as he never appeared. You have to remember, Zelda is very ambiguous with the timeline, so nothing is ever really cut and dry. As for the Revolution controller, I guess it would be cool if you could use it, but I would want it sooner without Revolution functionality rather than later.

Old man, after all this NGC nonsense I have been wondering, why would they delay TP for half a year or more just to add in functionality to it when they work off gamecube+ or rev kits? Didn't only take like 2 months for them to make metroid prime functional for the playable demo that they let those dudes (can't remember names) test? Surely if they delayed it this long, even if they did add revolution functionality, there is more time than necessary being taken for it and it is likely that they are also adding OTHER things to the game. Heck, if it was delayed solely for revolution compatibility, couldn't they add that in like 3 or 4 months and then launch it alongside the DS wifi to demolish Microsoft's 360 launch? your thought good sir?
~Acryte

I really think the whole NGC report was blown way out of proportion. It was speculation based on some information they got. It is not official. I'm still not totally sure why the original delay happened - creators will always say it was delayed to "make it better", what else would they say (oh, we fell behind and we need more time cuz we're lazy).

Hey Old Man!
Just wanted to let you know I spotted TSA's triforce pin you spoke about in your 11/27/05 post on ebay. No bids yet though, and no certificate either. Thought you might be interested. Ebay item# 6030796957

- Steve Braybrook

I checked it out. Yeah, that went for quite a bit. But TSA wouldn't sell his. It's a rare item, so something like that isn't worth pawning off if you can avoid it.

Closing Thoughts … Zelda's 20th Anniversary is right around the corner. Do you think Nintendo has anything special planned? You'd be an idiot to not think so!

Did you know … Zelda has appeared on the portables more than any console, and that GameCube is the one console that has had the most Zelda games released on it? The GameBoy systems have a total of 7 (Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, A Link to the Past/Four Swords, The Minish Cap, The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link) games on them, and then there is Game and Watch and the Nelsonic Watch. GameCube has 7 (The Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures, Ocarina of Time/Master Quest, Majora's Mask, The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, Twilight Princess) titles come out or are coming out soon. For a stretch of a year from December 2002 until November 2003, Nintendo released The Wind Waker, A Link to the Past/Four Swords, Ocarina of Time/Master Quest and Zelda Collector's Edition (Zelda 1, Zelda 2, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time). That's six different titles in a year…
