Like clockwork, Camp Hyrule registration
began today, marking the twelth time Nintendo fanboys have raced to
register for the exclusive online event. Well, I should say it is
exclusive to anyone who can register a MyNintendo account - before
it used to have a registration cap. Anyway, registration will continue
until this Friday afternoon due to typical first-day registration
bugs that delayed members from signing up.
This year I will have to admit it will be
a bit different for me. I have a full time job and so it will be very
hard to participate all-day. But never fear - I plan to hold my Lost
Woods Trivia at the very least, and try to ask the NOA localization
team another wonderful question they will totally side-step.
But seriously, for those of you who never
experienced this, it is quite fun. It's a fully active message board
and chat area with a sweet flash map to navigate. There's also cool
online games and contests which can earn your cabin points. You get
assigned to a cabin and to an NOA or NOAs, you make a cabin name,
choose a mascot, and make a flag. Cabin with the most points wins
at the end of the week.
I have a strong feeling this year's theme
is going to be the Nintendo Wii, although DS may have a significant
presence. Hopefully, if we're lucky, some cool, exclusive prizes or
information will be revealed. But it's not a sure thing.
Well, hopefully you'll be there. Remember,
registration ends Friday afternoon (Pacific Time), so hurry up and
sign up!
