Alright! I'm off to Comic-Con
with ThePrincessZelda. Hopefully if you're going to be there, you
have some way to get in contact with me. I will have internet access
from the place I am staying, and I will be doing updates on my IGN
blog, so I will direct you there in a moment. I have a schedule of
things to check out, but it seems the DS booth is just like the E3
booth, so I am hoping Phantom Hourglass is there (nobody has confirmed
this one way or the other). So keep checking back here for the link
to the Comic-Con blog I will be running.
Comic-Con International, commonly known as Comic-Con or the San
Diego Comic-Con, is an annual multigenre fan convention founded
as the San Diego Comic Book Convention in 1970 by Shel Dorf. It
is traditionally a four-day event (Thursday through Sunday) held
during the summer in San Diego, California, at the San Diego Convention
Center.
Originally showcasing comic
books and film, the convention has expanded over the years with exhibits
on other popular arts, including science fiction, fantasy, animation,
collectible card games and video games. The convention is the largest
of its kind in the United States, with an estimated 104,000 individual
attendees in 2005. In 2006, the convention will take place from July
20 to July 23, with a preview night on July 19th for pre-registered
members.
Nintendo® offers countless
comic book and video game fans at the annual Comic-Con in San Diego
a chance to try their hands at upcoming games for Nintendo DS™, including
Elite Beat Agents™, Mario™ Hoops 3 on 3, Pokémon® Mystery
Dungeon, Star Fox® Command and many more.
Meet Mario. Special guest Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario, will
also be available throughout the show for autographs. Popular Nintendo
characters Link and Mario will make appearances.
Visitors are encouraged to dress
as their favorite Nintendo character to increase their chances of
winning swag. Fans should visit the Nintendo booth for prizes and
more, including exclusive 8" x 10" oversized postcards given
out each day (perfect to collect as a set and have Charles sign).
Other giveaways include Nintendo DS Lite systems and Nintendo DS software.
Attendees can visit the booth to download Nintendo DS trials and demos
of games. Fans can also visit the multi-player zone and compete with
other Nintendo DS players.
