We've had a plethora of fan film projects spring up in the past
few months, none of which have really turned into anything more
than a trailer or a bunch of talk. Well, it seems that ended. Though
you may be fooled at first into thinking this is a "serious"
fan film, this work is very humorous and very well done. I invite
you to take a peak at part I of Obsession Studios' "Legend
of Link".
The first part can viewed via Google Video here. Epic battles.
Annoying fairies. Great humor. See, if more people would realize
that fan films are meant to be, well, "fan" made and can
never be Hollywood productions (and don't claim to be serious attempts
to bring a game to life), then we may have more films like this.
The film is jam-packed with inside jokes, and I believe Tingle
and Navi are "Oscar" worthy performances. From Ganondorf's
over-the-top performance to Link's muteness, it's the most entertaining
footage of Zelda I've seen since the original cartoons. Nintendo
should reconsider voice acting after seeing this piece. Hopefully
we can find a higher resolution version, but the Google Video version
is pretty darn good.
