The Legend of Link has finally
come to close. Part III is a bit more serious than the other two,
but it still has its fair share of comedic relief. From EDPN (a rip
off of ESPN), to Kaepora Gaebora's ranting, to the sheer "awesomeness"
of the final battle (featuring mandatory Requiem for a Dream remix
music), The Legend of Link ends with a bang.
Though I must say I was a bit
dissapointed with the ending, and a lack of credits, overall part
III was a decent watch. I find it interesting the creators had two
very intense sequences in the production. The first was back in part
II, the kidnap and attempted rape of Malon, and in this part, the
slaughter of the Kokiri by Ganondorf. The film takes wild turns from
light-hearted fun to over-the-top brutality (though I must admit I
laughed a few times at the Kokiri Forest massacre).
Fans will definitely love the
final sequence with Link and Zelda, which sums up what Nintendo has
given us in terms of their feelings for each other. I must admit I
am a bit sad that this is over because it was very fun to watch. I
look forward to more fan films like this, which don't attempt to be
faithful, serious attempts at a live-action Zelda film, but rather
embrace the spirit of fan culture and the art of parody.
Many thanks to the creators and actors for their hard work on this
production. Hopefully they release a higher quality version (with
credits) in the near future.
