Since E3, whether we like
to admit it or not, we've gotten jack squat about Twilight Princess,
while news about Phantom Hourglass and Tingle RPG continues. But Nintendo
broke the silence today, albeit only in the form of new artwork, and
finally putting up those screenshots found in EGM and NP last month.
There's new artwork of characters and beings, as well as locales,
and the screens are of both the Twilight Realm and Hyrule.
In the batch of artwork, we
see "extended", or more complete versions of Hena, The Hylian
Guard, the Goron and the two clowns who are named Raka and Tobi. I
should point out that Raka (or Rakka) is translated from a noun that
derived from aramaic and is translated into English as the word "fool",
so I think the name is appropriate. There's also artwork of the Fire
Boss, a deformed Twilight Keese, and some Spirit or Diety that resembles
a cross between a wolf and Lord Jabu-Jabu.
The markings on the spirit-like
creature resemble those on the Goron. The Twilight Keese also has
weird markings on it as well, so there may be a connection between
the these elements. In addition to the character and enemy artwork,
there are three new scene pieces. The first is apparently a village
outside some gate; the whole area is reminiscent of the village we've
seen in screenshots and in the E3 2006 trailer.
Next we have Link entering what
I am sure you will think is a dungeon entrance, although it might
just be some cave. It looks like a cloud of smoke rising from a volcano,
or a geyser with water surging down the sides. There are either five
"dragon" hdeas below it, on the top of the archway, or it
is some sort of sea monster or beast, perhaps a Leviathan or Cracken
(this could be the entrance to the Goron Mines, a Fire Temple, or
perhaps that water area with a monster we've seen a glimpse of).
The last artwork piece is of
an interior of a home or hut. I will wager it is from Toaru Village
because you can see some baskets, some fish hanging up in the left,
and some markings that were seen in the E3 2005 footage of the village.
But it could honestly be of anywhere. All of the artwork is awesome
and gives us a bit more hype for what is to come.
As for the screenshots, they're
nothing new, but if you've not seen them - well - they're new to you.
You can check out both in our media gallery.
