The newest issue of Nintendo Dream had
a huge feature on the upcoming Tingle RPG for the Nintendo DS, due
out in just about a week from now. The spread is a full preview of
the upcoming game, as well as a two page "history" of Tingle
and his appearances in the various Zelda titles to date. Additionally,
Tingle RPG got from Famitsu, meaning the game probably is pretty decent.
Finally, a new video is up on the Japanese site.
The scans really don't reveal anything we
don't already know, but they have some more good resolution images
and screens. Speaking of which, a source released a ton of new screenshots,
though I haven't added those to the media gallery just yet. The history
pages in the magazine just show screens and art of Tingle from previous
titles.
The biggest news is the score the game received
from Famitsu. The game received an 8, 8, 8 and 9 for a 33 of 40 score.
Fairly impressive, and I think it may turn some heads. Perhaps Nintendo
will give serious consideration to localizing this title for North
America and elsewhere, although I wouldn't hold my breath.
GoNintendo also linked me to a page with
a ton of new screenshot of Tingle RPG. Sometimes, I really wonder
where people get these...is there really an NCL press page out there?
Oh well, they're not watermarked, so I'll add them up when I get a
chance. They show nothing new, so don't worry.
The last cool tidbit is the new video on
the official Tingle RPG NCL microsite, which near the end has footage
of a "battle" in which a certain "fire" dragon
appears to make a return. Could it be Volvagia makes an appearance
in Tingle RPG? We've already seen Gorons and Subrosians, but having
some bosses re-appear would also be sweet. Again, the game is scheduled
to release in about 10 days, and we should have the title by next
Friday/Saturday.
Probably the most unappreciated form of media from the Zelda series
is the manga. Part one of our three part segment focuses on a potential
Zelda film inspired by the manga.
Should Zelda fans get so worked up over the timeline of The Legend
of Zelda? Legions of fans debate this hot topic to no end, and there
isn't any relief in sight. Here's our take on the whole ordeal.
Did you know there is a documentary on The Legend of Zelda series?
Unfortunately, it is only in Japanese, but with the help of some
fans, one day this priceless work may be translated for all to enjoy!
