| The newest issue of Official Nintendo
Magazine from the UK is out. This time, they've really let us all
down. After promising a new Wii title being exclusively unveiled,
as well as exclusive new Twilight Princess screenshots and artwork,
they crank out media as old as E3 2006, and their exclusive title
was BWii - Batallion Wars 2 for the Wii. This marks the third time
they've promised big Zelda news, and failed to deliver. |
| |
| As for the content of the Twilight Princess
article, I've never seen such a poorly written piece of crap. There
are numerous, obvious errors with facts regarding the game, such as
the picture of Wolf Link in color, which they assume is Wolf Link
existing outside the Twilight Realm. Yes, this would be a good mistake
to make...at the time of E3 when this was revealed. But now that everyone
knows the Twilight Realm is no longer black and white, but a warped,
color-filled world, this was a very stupid mistake to make, especially
for an official Nintendo magazine. |
|
|
| People are badmouthing Nintendo Power, but
its UK counterpart is a joke. I could have written a better article
blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back. Heck, any Zelda fan
site could have. But it gets better. On their final page of the Twilight
Princess feature, they promise more new media...on October 27th, 2006.
Is this stuff catching on? Nintendo loves to delay stuff, so now the
magazine loves to as well? Give me a break, anyone who subscribes
to this magazine needs to seriously consider setting their money on
fire rather than paying for this nonsense. Oh yeah, wasn't this magazine
supposedly staffed by the guys who wrote NGC - that magazine that
claimed Twilight Princess was delayed last year for Revolution? |
| |
| I now 100% believe the story was fabricated,
and that they totally BSed their way into a lucky claim. Re-read the
article - if Wii comes out in October, everything in that article
was a lie. Yes, Twilight Princess on Wii will fully utilize the Wiimote
as NGC said - but that wasn't determined until THIS MONTH publicly,
and as of May 2006, it wasn't in effect. More like a that crack-pot
fortune teller on late night TV who does a cold reading to get some
of the facts right! Seriously, ONM has no credibility in my eyes when
it comes to Zelda, and the entire European scene for Zelda in general
is a joke. If you can't get info before Japan/America, make it up.
Good job. |
| |
| As for their History of Zelda feature, which
obviously has a page listing the games by North American dates, they
have the games out of order. For starters, Master Quest came out before
The Wind Waker. Oh, it came out at the same time in Europe? Hmm, okay.
Why is The Minish Cap lsited as a 2005 title, then? It came out in
2004 in Europe, right? Seriously, it makes me wonder sometimes for
a company that is so uptight about details, their official publications
can't even get them right sometimes. Oh yeah, they're still using
the term "Ganondorf Dragmire", if that's any indication
of how ancient their fact checking is. They somehow get the rarer
CD-i games information correct, yet they can't keep the actual official
games in order. |
| |
| So, with this shortcoming, what do we have
to look forward to? Here's an outline of hope. Between today and next
week, brand new Tingle RPG media and information will be revealed
courtesy of myself and perhaps others as the imports arrive to people
who pre-ordered the game. Two weeks from today, events in Japan, USA
and Europe will take place, promising new info. Additionally, I will
be attending my Wii party in two weeks, and I should have hands on
time with the new Twilight Princess build. |

Probably the most unappreciated form of media from the Zelda series
is the manga. Part one of our three part segment focuses on a potential
Zelda film inspired by the manga.
