Zelda: Site Update

I apologize for the 24 hour downtime for the site, forums and media gallery. We had a seamless transistion to our new server, which is the same host, just a different package, but I updated our DNS incorrectly. I plugged in a "D" into the beginning of each NameServer for all of our domains, and that is why nothing came up for about 24 hours. I truly apologize.

As you probably have read, some changes are happening around here. The first, and the easiest, was changing from the old dedicated server back to a VPS, though with the same host. This host has been remarkable, and I think we will be with them for the remainder of our existance, barring them closing down. Also, many thanks to Metallica, aka Sir Stabbeth, who has been helping as a server admin for us. He is going to take a step back to persue other things now, but he will still play a role, albeit smaller, in the server maintenance and management.

Next up is the the new site status. We're currenly in beta 4 of the design, which is being headed by Fury Three. I've shown it to a few people, and ironically, only TPZ doesn't like it. Most everyone who has seen it is convinced it is very Zelda-ish. Hopefully we have this done by the end of September, or at least in time for Twilight Princess' launch.

Also, many of you will start noticing some updates from JC. He's been brough on as our first new staff member for the site. I'm currently seeking an addition two writers/updaters, although one is in discussions with me to potentially join up. The goal of the site, as I have said, is to really make us a more credible press/news outlet, though still specializing in The Legend of Zelda. Our front page manager is in testing right now, and we will probably utilize it before the new site layout is done. This will result in more frequent updates.

Lastly, I was informed today by Play Asia that my copy of Tingle RPG has been shipped and should arrive between tomorrow and next Monday. I will have my review, screens and videos up as soon as I get the thing and have time to play it. I have asked a few online friends who know how to read Japanese much better than myself to aid if I run into something I can't figure out due to the language. I had to do this for one part in Four Swords Adventures because a puzzle was impossible to pass because it required bringing a "list" of random items to a Deku Scrub.

Also, tomorrow, there's supposedly going to be some new screens in ONM. I have a friend out in the UK who will try to buy it off the newsstands there and get us those images. Hope ONM is telling the truth for once.

Zelda Feature
