While another site was busy
stealing my speedrun, it got me thinking just how much interest there
was in the thing. I know it has been out for nearly a year and a half
now, but many of you haven't seen it yet. For those who don't care
for speedruns, but maybe haven't played The Minish Cap or need a good
guide - here's the perfect solution for you - my two-hour and forty-five
minute speedrun of The Minish Cap!
Many of you probably know of
what I speak, but it seems it was obvious who was in the wrong. But
while "intros" and "credits" are nice, and available
at nearly every major gaming news site (yawns - IGN, GameSpot, 1Up.com),
you can't get this footage anywhere else, except for Speed Demos Archive
and Archive.org, who generously hosted and covered the run when it
originally debuted.
The run shows how to complete
the game as fast as possible, so it is not a 100% completion guide
for those wanting that. It does, however, show very good dungeon strategies,
boss battles, and for those of you who are story/text fanatics, you
can frame advance the video in a player to see all the dialogue. All
cutscenes are intact because those weren't skippable. Hopefully you
all will enjoy this very much.
Please remember, if you embed
this video, you need to give credit. Also, do not rip the video for
any other use other than a fan work - that means to not resell the
footage or profit off it, do not claim it is yours (it has my name
all over it), and do not use it to advertise your own site. We already
just went through an incident where somebody tried to violate all
three of those conditions, and it wasn't pretty for them.
Did you know there is a documentary on The Legend of Zelda series?
Unfortunately, it is only in Japanese, but with the help of some
fans, one day this priceless work may be translated for all to enjoy!
Have you missed out on any of our E3 media coverage? Here's a quick
reference for all the footage we got at ths show, including exclusive
footage from Phantom Hourglass and Twilight Princess.
Should Zelda fans get so worked up over the timeline of The Legend
of Zelda? Legions of fans debate this hot topic to no end, and there
isn't any relief in sight. Here's our take on the whole ordeal.
