Nintendo Company Limited
updated it's Zelda: Tingle RPG microsite today with a few new characters,
and some new things to do. There is still no release date for North
America or elsewhere at this time, and the game is still due out September
2nd, 2006 in Japan. Check out the screen captures of all the new stuff
from the site.
It seems that Tingle has some
new guests in his home, and he can create a new compound item for
them (although it has disasterous side effects). I also realized that
the compound item making is completely controlled by the stylus, and
you have to "tap" ingredients either in the allotted time
or in a specific order for them to mix into the compound item successfully.
This time, the item makes some purple gas which chokes Tingle.
There's more pages
to the Tingle Manga, and Pinkle has some new messages for Tingle,
including a flashback video of the previous character Tingle was helping
out. There's also some stones or gems you can choose from during one
part, though I'm not sure if any do something special for you. Suffice
to say, I am expecting weekly updates on the site for the next five-to-six
weeks until the game ships in Japan.
Despite no release date outside
of Japan, I've already secured a pre-order of the game in Japan through
an importer, and it should arrive 3-5 days after it ships from Japan.
Hopefully my friend at work, who is fluent in Japanese, can lend me
some assitance if I get stuck. I've also invested in a DS capture
device, which should arrive from Europe next week. It boasts direct
video feed to my PC, like a standard capture card, and has software
that can capture videos and screens of the DS software.
Unlike Tetra's Trackers, which
I've yet to get to in our coverage, I won't let Tingle RPG slip through
the cracks. We'll have full coverage of the game and hopefully Nintendo
will release it elsewhere in the near future.
